We went over ideas for things that we can do to be good to Earth.  The circled one is what we committed to doing this week!

Birdwatching 101

The assignment is to recognize birds that fly through our back yard.  We used https://fieldguides.fieldmuseum.org/sites/default/files/rapid-color-guides-pdfs/593_usa_chicago_summer_birds.pdf and a book that we had to list all of the common birds in our area.  Kids puts their initials by the bird that they recognize.  This is a long term birdwatching project.  So far: woodpacker and red winged blackbird

The activity was to find a nature artifact around our house for each letter of the alphabet (I think I want to try that in Russia also)

Hugging and measuring a tree

Kids named 5 trees that are around our house and measured them using their hands.  Trees appreciated all the hugs! :)

Hearts in nature

Kids were looking for anything that looks like a heart outside of our house.  Here are the results!
